Prof. Chen Qun:Innovation and Application of Metal-Phthalates Frameworks with High Performance

The project has been continued for more than ten years. A significant breakthrough has been achieved in the controllable production of metal-organic framework (MOF) materials with low cost as well as the realization of industrial applications in the fields of rubber and plastic. The main innovation is described as follows:

(1) New recycling pathway for alkali minimization and dyeing-printing wastewater has been developed. (2) Green production and control technology for terephthalate-based MOFs have been realized, and cleaning 10 thousand-ton production line for MOFs with low cost has been established. (3) The production technology of the terephthalate-based MOF additives materials for the modification of PVC has been invented. (4) The production technology of the ZnO@terephthalate-based MOF composite material for rubber vulcanizing activator has been invented. (5) The production technology of the terephthalate-based MOF catalyst for the preparation of biodegradable aliphatic polyesters has been invented.

As a result, 10 thousand-ton production technology and production equipment for MOF materials have been established for the first time in the world. Moreover, the real industrial-scale application of the series of MOF products has been realized in the fields of rubber and plastic. The overall production technology has reached the international advanced level, and some technologies are in the international leading position. To date, no example of this type of project achievement has been reported. In addition, this project has been granted 31 invention patent authorizations, and published more than 60 SCI papers. In the past three years, the cumulative new sales of achievement application is 648 million yuan, and the new profit is 165 million yuan.
