I. About Changzhou City
Changzhou City is located in the south of Jiangsu Province, with a population of over 4.7 million. The city is blessed with a history of 3,200 years and a highly developed economy. In 2020, the city has gained a GDP of 780.53 billion yuan.With its rich resources of cultural relics and nice environment, it is one of the most attractive cities in China for studying, living, investing and working.
Located between Nanjing (the provincial capital) and Shanghai (China’s financial center), Changzhou boasts convenient transportation. You can fly to over 20 major cities in China and the major cities in Southeast Asia from Changzhou International Airport. Changzhou has two Railway stations: One is in the city center and the other in the northern part of the city. It takes only 50 minutes to Shanghai and 5 hours to Beijing by high-speed trains. The metro system can quickly take you from the university to the railway stations and major shopping malls.
II. About CZU
Established in 1978, Changzhou University (CZU) is a full-time public university jointly funded by Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, China National Petroleum Corporation(CNPC), China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). The University has complete infrastructure and excellent facilities, covering an area of over 160 hectares. The University has 21 Schools, with more than 20,000 full time students, including over 800 international students. At present, the university has 78 undergraduate majors, including 3 national characteristic majors, 12 national first-class majors, 2 pilot projects of comprehensive reform of the Ministry of Education, and 8 majors certified by China Engineering Education Accreditation Association (CEEAA).
After 43 years’ development, the university has built a complete talent training system covering bachelor, Master and Doctor programs and a multi-level scientific research and social service system. In 2020, the university was ranked 129th in Best Chinese Universities Rankings (BCUR) released by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy and 150th in 2020 Chinese University Comprehensive Strength Ranking (Wu Shulian).
CZU is a leading multidisciplinary university in Changzhou with a particular focus on engineering, science and management programs and has established strong links with business and governmental organizations. Three disciplines of Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering are among ESI global top 1%.
CZU is very active in international cooperation and exchange and has established close relationships with more than 50 universities in over 36 countries and regions.
CZU is one of the Target Universities in Jiangsu for International Students, started to enroll international students since 2009 and has been awarded the honor of Outstanding University of International Students Education by Jiangsu Province for many times. In recent years, the scale of international students has been developing rapidly. By 2020, there are more than 800 international students of long-term programs.
